Error 0x80040256 No audio hardware is available

This error occurs while trying to change the default DirectSound device in Windows Vista/7. Since Windows does not accept third party audio rendered device for the audio output unless a sound card is installed with specific analog/digital audio system.
To resolve this, verify that the audio output is set to Default DirectSound (or) WaveOut device in DirectShow filters like fddshow, LAV,
